Remember this

Demanding credit and recognition is a loser’s game… It is a way of saying that we don’t believe good work should be done for its own sake, but rather for the applause that goes with it.
The real kicker is that people who demand recognition never get enough of it.

I disagree.
I’ve done things without pay or credit or recognition, for the benefit of people who did get all of these things.
I wonder if the person you cite would give me a day’s worth of his or her work without credit or pay. If so, name please! I promise not to pay, or give credit or recognition, if that will make him or her happy. I wouldn’t want to make anyone feel like a loser.
We can argue about copyright, but I think the author of any work is entitled to recognition, if he or she wants it. Anyone who has a problem with that, I suspect of passing other people’s work off as their own. Not sure what to call such a person, loser seems too tame.
Antoine, the post isn’t about ripping people off for work. It’s about people who need constant glorification of themselves, who do nothing as a gift, and are always dissatisfied by what they perceive as a lack of appreciation for their charity and genius.
Doing good work for a long period of time without credit or recognition does rather wear a person down, though, I think. Having people you respect agree that it is good work does help with motivation.
I don’t know how else to phrase it: Those who can only do good work for the pay-off of such recognition are bound to be unhappy, because they need it constantly, and are incapable of doing good work for its own sake.
