Sir Ian Blair goes further off the deep end
POLICE have agreed to consult a panel of Muslim leaders before mounting counter-terrorist raids or arrests. Members of the panel will offer their assessment of whether information police have on a suspect is too flimsy and will also consider the consequences on community relations of a raid.
Take it, Mr de Havilland:
So tell me, did the Metropolitan Police ask for permission from, oh I dunno, the Catholic Church maybe, before raiding possible IRA terrorist suspects in London for fear of upsetting the delicate sensibilities of the UK’s Irish community?
I’m about as contemptuous as it is possible to be with regard to the police’s repeated bungling (and that term is not nearly harsh enough) of ‘terror’ raids, but to agree to ask permission from Muslim ‘community leaders’ is wrong on about a million levels - not least of which is that these ‘community leaders’ are largely self-appointed, and don’t so much lead as bleat. What on earth does Metropolitan police commissioner Sir Ian Blair think he is doing? I mean, I know the man is out of touch with reality, since he thinks people in London feel safer than ever and are leaving our doors open and unlocked, but this really beggars belief.

That’s just another reason for me to work even harder and save even more money to leave this f’ing country rather sooner than later.
And I am not going back to Germany as they are obviously as scared as everybody else. This is so wrong. http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2006/09/26/arts/EU_A-E_MUS_Germany_Opera_Islam.php
Well, Mr. de Havilland, there’s an easy answer to that: Any self-respecting C of E Brit will never despise any Muslim as much as he despises Catholics and Jews.
