Someone’s missing
My dear friend Cathy Seipp passed away two years ago today. Few news stories appear which don’t make me wonder what Cathy would have to say about them, and in my most difficult personal predicaments, I ponder what Cathy would advise. (”Quit whining!” would be the most likely response.)
This is a picture from four years ago, in Cathy’s cozy Silver Lake house, of me, Nancy, and Cathy. Despite being Jewish, she put on a great Easter open house with fantastic food, with her usual collection of smart, funny, weird friends wandering in and out throughout the day. Despite all the champagne I drank that Sunday, it remains one of the most memorable days I spent with Cathy during the all too brief period she was in my life. A period, I hasten to add, during which she introduced me to many people who are today amongst my closest and most treasured friends.
I wrote two posts about Cathy last year on this date; they are here and here.
