Stucky in Kentucky

Snow. Lots of snow.

Antoine opened the blinds in our room (at our friends’ house) this morning and exclaimed, “Snow!” I was thinking it would be more of a light dusting, but no, three and a half inches fell overnight. The freezing rain that followed all morning has made the roads a nightmare, especially in this town (Florence, Kentucky) where our friends, New England natives, swear no one knows how to drive properly in the best of conditions.

So we’re snowed in. We were supposed to be at my parents’ place by this evening, but we’re going to stay another night with Jamie and Kelly and then leave at 5.45AM for Columbus, where we’ll fly to New York mid-morning. We couldn’t ask for a better, more comfortable place to be stranded; the kids are cute and well-behaved, the food is great and plentiful, and Antoine’s getting to play with guns. We might never leave.
