I feel slightly guilty when people compliment me on my cooking, as I am the laziest cook ever. And when I have a large group over, I do not want to be stuck in the kitchen while everyone else is talking. Plus, I refuse to run the oven on the day of a summer gathering. So I tend to make stuff that is both very easy and that can be prepared mostly ahead of time. Here’s what I made when I had a dozen friends over on Sunday. Even if you’ve got porridge for brains, you can make that stuff.
