If you can’t come to Hell’s Kitchen

I met - separately - the authors of two of my favorite blogs while I was in New York this weekend: Gretchen Rubin of The Happiness Project and Michael K of Dlisted (the latter is possibly not safe for work). They each engaged me in absorbing conversation. Guess which quotation belongs to which tête-à-tête:
“Have you heard of social comparison theory?”
“Have you ever done Oxycontin and, if so, how much did you love it?”
No prizes for guessing correctly, sadly.

hi, jackie, how’s life?
that’s a beautiful photo - you caught the light really well. if you crop out the left-hand 2/3rds it tells a totally different story.
thanks for the ’social comparison theory’ link.

I’m SO jealous! Michael K is my hero.
Dan!!! Any compliment from you is high praise indeed - thank you so much! As you well know, I was just lucky. So happy to hear from you!
Mary: Michael K is my hero, too. He makes money from his sick mind. This is my dream job.
