Where’s the best place to watch rugby in Paris?
Posted on February 8th, 2007 by Jackie Danicki
Unless we find out about a better option, we’re headed to the Eden Park Café on rue Princesse on Sunday to watch the French batter the Irish. Anyone know of any other particularly good venues for watching the match?

Just guess (I wouldn’t know the answer to where to watch from personal experience, of course!), but Le Frog Et Le Rosbif in the 2nd on the edge of the 3rd arrondissement, near rue Montorgeuil, is probably a good place.
Near rue Princess, there are a bunch of pub-type places. I think there’s one just down the block from Gerard Mulot Patisserie. I forget the name of the street, and I’m at Cathy’s, supposedly working! Or getting back to work, at the very least!
Shame on you Miss Danicki, there will be no battering going on from the French side. C,mon the boys in green
I would suggest hanging out with the boys in green in Kitty O Shea’s Porte Maillot

Eh. I don’t like the name of Le Frog et Le Rosbif; Antoine, being a half-breed, was always regarded as a rosbif in France and as a frog in London, and while it doesn’t bother him, those ‘cute’ insults annoy me. But thanks!
Hmm, Pat, if I was a gambling woman, I’d ask you to wager a few Euros on that one! Anyway, I don’t think the patrons of the James Joyce would take kindly to Antoine’s proud singing of La Marseillaise…Might be fun to watch the ensuing violence, though.

AT THE GROUND?
( Really can’t stand those who don’t go and get a ticket - about time we banned live sport on tv)
rant over.
Jeremy, the match is being played in Ireland. We’re going to be in Paris. What about that does not compute for you?
Also, you might want to kick the caffeine habit. Just sayin’.
Lets give it a go Jackie. If Ireland loose I will send you one of my amazing roam4free sim cards as a gift, If Ireland win I will ask that you make a €20 donation (full price of sim) to Irish guide dog association.
you on?
Sounds good, Pat!
Hi Jackie
An Irish bar would be the best - James Joyce or any of the others.
Probably full of French fans as well - should be good
Ireland for the grand slam …

What about O’Neills on the Champs Elysee?
To watch the Irish batter Le French!
I’d sooner drink in a Wetherspoons than darken the door of an O’Neill’s (with all due respect to Mr Thwaites)! Susie, you have one hell of a sense of humour, you know that, lady? (You can get in on my and Pat’s bet if you want!)
This is the trouble when you write before you think. But I’m sticking to my main point. Live Sport on TV has severly hurt the financial fortunes of grass roots sport in the UK. Particuarly football.
(Thought the Irish were a bit unlucky)
…And so the answer is to BAN live sport on TV?
Yeah, freedom is way overrated.
