It was hard to get any decent pictures of anything but Carew Tower, but I tried. Photo set is here.

As for the sing-along, all I can say is that it made me laugh, and not in an evil, smug way. I didn’t sing along, and I felt sorry for Bootsy Collins and co when the music didn’t play (they sang a capella), but it was a fun lunchtime thing to do.

Cincinnati Pops conductor Steven Reineke didn’t seem to have put much practice in on the words - which he flubbed on all three goes at singing the theme - but he was a good sport to keep the show going. Plus, he’s cute, and I can forgive a lot of a cute boy.

Next time something like this happens, I’d recommend limiting the blather-time given to the DJs prior to the main event. Most people were giving up their lunch hour to come down for this, so it would have been better to respect that and keep the chit-chat to a minimum; it ain’t drivetime when everyone’s standing around, baking in the heat and humidity.

Bootsy Collins was very nice to all the fans who came up to him. Talk about a good sport: I was roasting in a t-shirt and jeans, so I can’t imagine how he was feeling in a metallic suit.
