Zzzzzz

I am in the throes of nostalgia for the British music I was listening to from 1995 - 2000. YouTube is coming in very handy for this. (It is much less handy for the parallel nostalgia I am experiencing, for the country music I was listening to from 1992 - 2000. Don’t ask.)

This Chemical Brothers/Beth Orton track reminds me of being extremely wasted, even though I think I loved it and forgot it a few years before I even got into that kind of thing.

Why does all druggy music go on for several minutes longer than it really should? The edited version of Underworld’s Born Slippy clocks in at almost five minutes. This is even sillier when you consider how repetitive it is; should never have been allowed to exceed two minutes, really.

Speaking of drugs, I must have been on them to love this record so much way back then:

But at least it’s only a bit over three minutes.

  1. Ah, but the extended version of “Born Slippy” is quick lazy workout length…
