Why is Pontin’s using my picture all over their website?
Posted on November 22nd, 2007 by Jackie Danicki
There I am on the front page and on their “blog”.
I am not blogging for Pontin’s, I have never had contact with Pontin’s, and they have not asked for permission to use Amy Alkon’s copyrighted photo of me on their website.
WTF?
UPDATE November 25: Pontin’s have sneakily made a stealth edit to their site. It’s a good thing I made screen shots of their illegal use of Amy Alkon’s photo of me:

Is the original up online somewhere? Can’t believe this - they nick your photo and put it on a shit blog too! I think I’m going to have to lay into this over on Strange Attractor…
Yes, it’s on my web server (I used to have that pic on my sidebar). What is distressing is being associated with such an awful website - it could really damage my professional reputation. (I did not find this myself, it was emailed to a client who contacted me to ask why I was doing work for Pontin’s!)
I appreciate the shared annoyance and understanding, Suw!
omg, that is absolutely evil
I never say this, but, surely there is some kind of action you can take against them??!
unbelievable.
Very odd. The ‘Bluecoat’s Diary’ bit suggests you’re the equivalent of a Butlin’s Holiday rep based in Blackpool. Probably not exactly the professional image you want to project in your line of work!
The worst thing is that this is EXACTLY the sort of horrible “blog” I show to clients as an example of just how bad corporate blogging can be. Only this one has my photo plastered all over it.
Hey, they’re using Drupal and haven’t replaced their favicon.
Cool. Nearly.
I see they’ve removed you and put up a picture of Oliver Kamm instead..
Wow, that was weird. I guess you just have that attractive but honest spokesperson kind of face.
So does this mean you don’t know who won the karaoke finals?
